Community Acupuncture is a method for delivering acupuncture to multiple people in the same room, at the same time. This model is reflective of how acupuncture is administered in China. By grouping people together in the same room, we are able to offer lower prices.
As acupuncturists, we realize that the cost of one on one appointments can be prohibitively expensive for many people. We are often frustrated by wanting to treat people more frequently so that they can feel better faster but knowing that they can’t afford it. It is our hope that by introducing group acupuncture, we can improve accessibility and rates of clinical improvement for our patients. Group acupuncture is done fully clothed, with application of needles mostly in the wrists, ankles, ears, head and sometimes the abdomen. This type of treatment is great for body pain (acute and chronic), auto injury recovery, headaches, smoking cessation, hunger management, stress management, allergies and common colds. In addition, it can be very helpful for continuing a protocol established during a full length appointment. Many patients like to do one full length private treatment in alternation with one or two group sessions. This helps to both moderate the price of acupuncture and to improve its efficacy. Though group acupuncture is done in an environment with others present, you can still expect a quiet, restorative treatment that will allow you to go back to your busy day filled with a greater sense of health and wellness. Feel free to register online or to join us as a walk in. We welcome everyone from the chronically ill to those of you who might just be having a terrible day. Group acupuncture is a quick, low commitment, way to help keep yourself well and balanced.
